The Miami Dolphins announced a stunning coaching change on Wednesday afternoon. The move came a week and a half after the Dolphins season-ending loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card round.
The Miami Dolphins are parting ways with their DC
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio mutually parted ways with the Dolphins.

Vic Fangio is expected to take the Philadelphia Eagles DC job
Per Adam Schefter with ESPN, the Philadelphia Eagles are expected to hire Fangio as their defensive coordinator.
The Dolphins and Vic Fangio have mutually agreed to part ways, sources tell me and @JFowlerESPN. The Dolphins hired Fangio following the Eagles’ loss to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl last year. Typically, coordinators are given multi-year contracts, so the Dolphins’ decision to let Fangio walk away from a playoff team caught much of the NFL world off guard.
The Dolphins defense ranked 22nd in league in points allowed per game (23 ppg) during the regular season. The defense ranked tenth in yards per game allowed (318.3).
The Miami Dolphins have a replacement in mind
According to Rapoport, the Dolphins are expected to go after former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley as Fangio’s replacement. Staley is considered one of the top defensive coordinator candidates this offseason.

However, the Green Bay Packers had already crossed Staley off as one of their potential hires when they fired Joe Barry Wednesday morning.
