The Miami Dolphins suffered a huge defeat against the Buffalo Bills yesterday and now they went from the potential one seed two weeks ago to the 6th seed. They will have to go into Kansas City now for their first playoff game and if they can’t bring their best game they will be sent packing in the first week of the playoffs.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had one of his worst games of the season in the most important game. This is becoming a trend for Tua and it would be shocking if the Dolphins made him one of the top paid guys in the league after yet another disappointing end to the regular season.
Miami had one of the best offenses at times throughout the year but when all the chips are on the table they looked like a different team. This is not the first time that Tua has looked much different from the MVP candidate that he was at many points throughout the year.
Miami Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa Fades Away In The Big Games
The Dolphins have bene scratching the surface of being one of the best teams in the NFL for a few years now but they have not managed to get over the hump of not only the Bills in their own division, but competing with the other top teams in the AFC as well. Tua has seemed to not be his best self when it comes to the big games these past few years.
In Tuas most important four games in the past four seasons his stats are simply not good enough to give him the big bucks. In a huge divisional matchup in week 17 of the 2020 season Tua faced the Bills and finished with 62.5 passer rating as the team lost 56-26. In week 17 in 2021 they played Tennessee and lost 34-3, while Tua had a terrible game.
Then this season he had two huge games back to back against the Ravens and Bills and lost 56-19 and 21-14 in those respective games. In those four games combined Tua has 4 passing touchdowns and 8 interceptions. This is starting to become a trend that Tua will look like one of the best in the league but in these most important games, Tua and Dolphins fall flat in a major way.
If Miami can manage to get through Kansas City that would definitely change the narrative a bit, but if they are out of the playoffs in the first game, it would be shocking if Miami would pay Tua the big bucks.
