The Miami Dolphins are coming off another late season collapse. The Dolphins started the season 9-3, then stumbled in their final five games, allowing the Bills to stage a stunning comeback and win the AFC East division. Which ultimately lead the Dolphins into Kansas City wildcard round, where the Chiefs eliminated them from the playoffs. Similarly, in the 2022 season, the Dolphins began with an 8-3 record but then lost five of their last six games of the regular season and were eliminated in the wild card round to the Bills.
With multiple seasons of first round losses in a row for the Dolphins, just making the playoffs isn’t the goal anymore. For this season, the Dolphins need to mount their first playoff win since the year 2000. With another year of the teams core together, the Dolphins will need to overcome the late season collapses and compete with the other talented teams in the AFC.
Under the guidance of offensive-minded head coach Mike McDaniel, the team has ranked near the top of the league in total points scored, coming in a 11th 2022 and 2nd last season. While fans remain speculative about McDaniel’s performance, it’s worth noting that he is a young coach, and the Dolphins offense has been impressive during his tenure.
The Miami Dolphins have put together one the league’s top offense with stars like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De’Von Achane, Raheem Mostert, and Tua Tagovailoa all contributing this past year. However, the big question will be, how will the Dolphins offensive line perform? Miami has only retained one starter on the offensive line from last season, right tackle Austin Jackson. Notably, the team lost their talented guard in the free agency, Robert Hunt. Hunt signed a massive deal with the Carolina Panthers.
Miami Dolphins Tyreek Hill Betting Favorite to Win OPOY
Tyreek Hill is entering his third season with the Miami Dolphins and coming off a career year where Hill recorded 119 catches for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns. Hill has had back-to-back career years since coming to Miami. Hill is the first player in NFL history to have multiple 1,700-yard seasons and he did it back-to-back. Tyreek fits well with head coach Mike McDaniel’s style of football and can make defenders miss in the open field.
Hill finished second in the Offensive Player of the Year voting this past season just behind Christian McCaffrey. However, as of now, Tyreek Hill is the NFL favorite to win the award this upcoming year. On DraftKings Sportsbooks, Hill is sitting at +700 odds with Christian McCaffrey right behind him at +750.
