Connor Williams‘ time with the Miami Dolphins appears to have come to an end. The 27-year-old is currently a free agent after spending the last two seasons with the Dolphins but at this point, it seems that Williams has already played his final game for Miami.
His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, recently spoke out about his client’s current situation and the former has all but confirmed Williams’ imminent departure.
Miami Dolphins News: Connor Williams On His Way Out
Williams hasn’t found his new team just yet. However, based on the statement of his agent, it is clear that the veteran tackle will be playing elsewhere next year:
“On behalf of Connor, I’m sure he’d be open to it. I wouldn’t think that it’s likely he would return here with the Dolphins,” Rosenhaus said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
“I certainly wouldn’t rule anything out, but the Dolphins did sign a fine center in Aaron Brewer from the Tennessee Titans and made a big investment. I think Connor, wherever he signs, it will be as a center.”
As Rosenhaus pointed out, the arrival of Brewer leaves no room for Williams on the Dolphins’ roster. This has pretty much forced his hand to find employment elsewhere, which as of right now, hasn’t bear fruit just yet.
Williams’ agent did not completely shut the door on a potential return to Miami, though, but all signs are pointing to the notion that Williams will be moving on to greener pastures soon.
There are multiple teams out there that are in need of additional depth at the guard position, and Williams does bring a lot to the table. It will now be a matter of finding the best fit for his talents, and of course, seeking the best possible deal available.
