One of the most highly anticipated NFL matchups in Week 9 takes place between the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs. Star WR Tyreek Hill is playing the Chiefs for the first time since he was traded to the Dolphins.
However, this game is not going to be in Kansas City. Instead, this is the first NFL that will ever be played in Frankfurt, Germany.
What should we keep an eye on in this game? Can the Dolphins knock off the defending Super Bowl Champions?
Let’s take a look.

Miami Dolphins Key Stats
The biggest thing to note about the Miami Dolphins is how lethal their offense is. They lead the NFL in every relevant offensive category.
This is by a wide margin too. They average 115 more total yards per game than the second-highest team in the NFL. Also, they are the only team in the NFL that averages more than 30 points per game.
One player that stands out here is WR Tyreek Hill. He leads all wide receivers in receiving yards (1,014) and touchdown receptions (8).
QB Tua Tagovailoa is also having a career year thus far. He has 2,416 passing yards and 18 touchdown passes.
However, there is one concern with the Dolphins. That concern is that they do not perform well against the best teams on their schedule.
Miami is 6-0 against teams who are currently under .500. However, they are 0-2 against teams who are currently over .500.
Considering the Chiefs are well into the latter category, I am skeptical that the Dolphins will show up against the defending Super Bowl champions. In my opinion, they need to win this game to be taken seriously as a Super Bowl contender.
Kansas City Chiefs Stats
If the Chiefs are going to win this game, they are going to need a good performance from their defense. Luckily, their defense has come through for them so far this season.
Believe it or not, Kansas City’s defense is second in the NFL in points allowed per game (16.1). Plus, they rank fourth in total yards allowed per game (287.8).
Admittedly, they are going up against the best offense they have faced all season. However, they have proven they can limit talented offenses. Do not forget, this defense only allowed 14 points in the opener against the Detroit Lions, who rank second in the NFL in total yards per game.
Patrick Mahomes has admittedly not had his best season so far with eight interceptions. However, he does move the ball considering he ranks third in passing yards.
Most of those go towards TE Travis Kelce. He has made headlines with his romantic relationship with singer Taylor Swift.
Kelce even seems to perform better when Swift attends games. At the time of writing, we do not know if Swift will attend this one.
At the end of the day though, Kansas City’s defense is going to tell the story in this game.
Game Prediction
The Dolphins are a sexy pick in this game because of their flashy offense. While this team definitely has legitimate talent, I need to see them take down one of the big boys in the NFL.
Given the defensive talent that the Chiefs have, I do not expect that to happen here.
Plus, Mahomes is coming off arguably his worst game of the season. I do not expect a second straight poor performance from him here.
Final Pick
Kansas City Chiefs -1.5 (-110)
