Wilson has spent the entirety of the 2023 season on the shelf but will give Miami a much-needed boost with rookie sensation De’Von Achane being out for at least the next three games. Achane had taken the NFL world by storm, scoring seven touchdowns and averaging a ludicrous 11.2 yards per touch in four games.
Jeff Wilson: Lifelong Teammate of Raheem Mostert
Jeff Wilson Jr. joined the Miami Dolphins last year via trade. The Dolphins sent the San Francisco 49ers a fifth-round draft pick for the running back. Wilson ran for 392 yards and three touchdowns on 4.7 yards per attempt.
The North Texas product had a solid season with San Francisco before the trade, rushing for 468 yards and two touchdowns on 92 attempts. His best season came in 2020 when he scored ten touchdowns in 12 games with the 49ers.
Miami Dolphins: Running Back Room Ahead of Week 7
Jeff Wilson will join a backfield headlined by Raheem Mostert. Wilson and Mostert were teammates with San Francisco from 2018-2021 while joining the Dolphins at separate times last year. Wilson, alongside Mostert, played for now Miami head coach Mike McDaniel while he was the run game coordinator/offensive coordinator with San Francisco.
Moster is having a fantastic season, leading the NFL in rushing touchdowns with nine. He has 429 rushing yards on 5.7 yards per attempt. Four-year veteran Salvon Ahmed is also in the Miami backfield. The five-foot-eleven running back has spent his entire career with Miami but averages just 3.8 yards per rush attempt. He has 12 carries for 47 yards and a score this season.
