Miami Dolphins’ head coach Mike McDaniel provided some very encouraging news about De’Von Achane and his injury status and how soon fans can expect him to return.
Miami Dolphins’ De’Von Achane Nearing Return
After suffering a knee injury in Week 5, the Dolphins’ super-star running back went on injured reserve. With the team heading into a Bye week, it gives Achane a bit more time to recover, and while he didn’t exactly say that Achane would be back for the Raiders game on Nov. 19, it definitely was something that McDaniel hinted at.
“No setbacks,” McDaniel said when asked about Achane. “So, we’ll see.”

McDaniel also told media that there hasn’t been any reason as to why Achane would take longer than the four-game mandatory absence for players on IR for him to return, but you never know.
“So far, so good. There hasn’t been any reason to think that it’ll take longer,” McDaniel said. “But you know how those things are; you have to take it one day at a time. So we’ll approach that when we need to make a more firm decision.”
De’Von Achane can be activated next Wednesday, which seems to be the plan for the Dolphins as they’ll prepare to take on the Las Vegas Raiders. Getting Achane will be huge for Miami; He’s scored seven touchdowns for the team this season before going down with an injury, and has collected 460 rushing yards on 38 carries in just four games.
While having Salvon Ahmed and Jeff Wilson Jr. to fall back on while Achane’s been down, having him back on the field will be even more of a boost to the Dolphins’ offense, especially after the Week 9 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Heading into the bye, the Miami Dolphins are in first place in the AFC East. They need to come back well-rested and ready to tackle the second half of the season.
