The Miami Dolphins have made headlines recently. Whether it is because of big contracts, potentially locking down other key players, or airing out other grievances, the Dolphins have been through it. Now, there has been a big update to come out of the team’s minicamp. Read below to find out more.

According to Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network, the Miami Dolphins have decided to end their mandatory minicamp early. It was scheduled to be three days, but the team has decided to conclude this minicamp after just two days.
Wolfe went on to say the team will still do something together as an alternative to the minicamp. Miami will conduct a walkthrough before the team parts ways for the next month. Then, the team will reunite in late July for training camp.

There were a few good things to come out of this minicamp. One of them was QB Tua Tagovailoa showing up for it.
Prior to this starting, there were some concerns Tua may hold out during the minicamp. This is because there was speculation he would want a contract extension. In the end, Tua did show up and simply stated “The market is the market” as his expectation moving forward with his next contract.
Then, there is Anthony Weaver. The new defensive coordinator has apparently helped unify the defense. Dolphins safety Jevon Holland praised Weaver while taking a shot at the former defensive coordinator, Vic Fangio. Now, this minicamp has given this defense another opportunity to build chemistry together.
Miami Dolphins Moving Forward

So, what can we expect from the Dolphins moving forward? Well, there will be some expectations to get redemption for last season. Miami gave up the AFC East title to the Buffalo Bills, forcing them to go on the road for a wild card game in the playoffs. They would go on to lose that wild card game to the Kansas City Chiefs.
It will be a big year for Tua, as 2024 will likely decide if he receives a massive contract extension or not. Wide receiver Tyreek Will may also have more vocal demands for a contract extension if things go well. On top of this, WR Jaylen Waddle will have to show he is worth the massive $85 million contract extension he just received.
