The Baltimore Ravens have had their fair share of wide receiver questions over the years.
Indeed, not many franchises have spent fewer resources on drafting and developing top-end receiver talent in the National Football League over the past few decades.
Baltimore Ravens Made A Unique Strategic Change Going Into The 2023 Season

Although the Ravens went about as “all-in” as they go, drafting Boston College receiver, Zay Flowers, with the 22nd pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and giving Odell Beckham Jr. a surprising 1 year, $15 million prove-it deal.
Despite this, Baltimore were unable to live up to their #1 seed billing, and fell at home to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship with quarterback, Lamar Jackson, unable to move past the Chief’s stoic defense lead by legendary defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo.
Additions this offseason to counterbalance the departure of Beckham Jr. have been limited, with veteran speedsters Nelson Agholor and Deonte Harty added as vertical threats, whilst North Carolina’s Devontez Walker was added in the 4th round this past NFL draft.
And even though the Ravens also re-signed former 1st rounder, Rashod Batemen, to a multi-year extension – much to the lukewarm reaction of fans, many believe that the reigning AFC North champions have much to be desired at wideout.
Yet, Baltimore are now down one more perimeter threat, as they announced on Twitter the release of perhaps not the most familiar name.
We have released WR Tayvion Robinson.

Baltimore Ravens Release Tayvion Robinson

If you do not know who Tayvion Robinson is, shame on you! In all seriousness, coming out of the 2024 draft as an undrafted free agent, few followers of pro football were familiar with the Kentucky product’s material.
But, for those who follow SEC football, Robinson may well be a surprisingly well-known figure. The 23 year old spent 3 seasons at Virginia Tech before transferring to the University of Kentucky for his final 2 years of eligibility.
Robinson had a very consistent 5 years in college football, producing just over 2600 receiving yards across 5 seasons, all of which were between 400 and 600 yards. In fact, since his rookie year, the Virginia native never produced fewer than 497 yards, and no more than 592 yards across one year – an exceptionally low variance for what is a highly volatile sport in the realm of individual statistics.
Hopefully, with what has been some strong, consistent college production, Robinson is able to fall on his feet and find room on another 90 man roster before training camp starts in mid-July.
