For a Dallas Cowboys franchise quarterback with a looming expiring contract in less than 12 months, Dak Prescott has had a suspiciously quiet offseason, at least on the contract front.
Dak Prescott Experiencing Outside Noise Beyond Contract Negotiations

Many rumors have continued to mill around concerning Prescott’s future compensation, or if the Dallas Cowboys even decide to finally trade the 3 x Pro Bowler.
However, the major non-football story concerning the Mississippi state product is the lawsuit bought forth by a woman accusing him of sexual assault back in 2017.
It was eventually announced that Dak would not face prosecution charges from the Dallas Police Department (DPD), citing a lack of sufficient evidence as the cause, and the Cowboy then decided to counter sue the alleged victim.
Whilst the DPD are not leading an active investigation, the case has still technically been ongoing in Collin County, where the lawsuit was moved to back in April.
Now, the case has seemingly come to an initial conclusion, as a Collin County judge delivered a ruling on Dak Prescott’s case, per Pro Football Talk.

Texas Judge Dismisses Dallas Cowboys Franchise Quarterback’s Case

After what has been somewhat of a roller-coast ride for Dak Prescott, including a wild-if-true, $100 million extortion attempt against the Louisiana native, the case has been settled, at least for the time being.
Dak, who recently welcomed his first child in February after announcing his girlfriend’s pregnancy in November, and his representatives vehemently deny any wrongdoing concerning this alleged 2017 assault.
His attorney, Levi McCathern, stated on Wednesday.
“These ploys distract from the trauma of legitimate sexual assault survivors and undermine the progress that our society has made in supporting them. We are proud that Dak stands up against this injustice and thankful Judge Tucker agrees.”
Pro Football Talk reports that on September 13th, a hearing will decide whether Prescott’s team will be able to take legal action against the alleged extorter. So it seems that we have yet one final chapter, or two, to go in this slightly peculiar ongoing saga.
