The Miami Dolphins will receive a massive boost on offense this weekend with the return of star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. However, as the football gods tend to do: When they giveth, they taketh. With the return of the Pro Bowl passer who led the NFL in passing a year ago, Miami will place an All-Pro on the injured reserve. Last Sunday, wideout and elite kick return Braxton Berrios suffered a brutal non-contact injury in a loss against the Indianapolis Colts. The Dolphins revealed shortly after that Berrios did indeed suffer a season-ending ACL tear.
Berrios’ absence will be a significant loss for the Miami Dolphins, with the six-year pro operating as a rotational pass-catcher and the team leads kick and punt returner. Berrios broke his silence on the injury, taking to his Instagram to share a heartfelt post with the fans.
Miami Dolphins WR Braxton Berrios Talks Season-Ending Injury

According to Miami Dolphins wideout Braxton Berrios through his Instagram account:
If you’re lucky like me, adversity has become a close friend. It means you’re chasing something not easily attainable, and through all the failures and setbacks, you’ve persevered. There’s pain along the way, but what’s on the other side makes it all worth it.
Initially, all I want to do is play victim and question everything, but I know God, and I know he makes no mistakes. After the dust settles the choice each day is going to be pretty straightforward- have this be a part of my story or have it be the end of my story. Well, like Kobe once said, ‘If you see me in a fight with a bear, pray for the bear.’
Berrios will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL in his second year with the Miami Dolphins. The Miami Hurricanes’ product also shared his devastation with the injury, but he feels comfortable knowing he has rebounded from a long-term injury before. Berrios missed the entirety of his rookie season with the New England Patriots. He earned All-Pro honors with the New York Jets in 2021.
Berrios will finish his 2024 season with four targets and no receptions across six games. He returned seven punts for 103 yards and three kick-offs for 76 yards. Running back De’Von Achane and wideout D’Wayne Eskridge are the only other players on the team to return a kick-off this season.
