The Miami Dolphins have concerning news on their injury report for Thursday night’s contest against the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins listed their top two running backs Raheem Mostert (chest), De’Von Achane, and wide receiver Malik Washington (quad) as DNPs during their first two days of practice this week.
One has been ruled out for Thursday night.
The Miami Dolphins say De’Von Achane is a game-time decision
On Wednesday morning, head coach Mike McDaniel said Achane would be a game-day decision to play the Bills. Achane ran 10 times for 24 yards and a touchdown against the Jackson Jaguars in Week 1.
Achane had an impressive rookie season last year, running 103 times for 800 yards and eight touchdowns. He caught 27 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns.
Raheem Mostert has been ruled out for Thursday night
McDaniel ruled out Mostert against the Bills. Mostert ran six times for nine yards against the Jaguars. Mostert had a big season last year, gaining 1,012 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns on 209 carries. He added 18 receptions for 175 yards and three touchdowns in the pass game in the 2023 season.
Who will the Dolphins turn to at running back?
The Dolphins have two more running backs on the 53-man roster, Jeff Wilson Jr. and rookie Jaylen Wright. Wilson had five carries for 26 yards against the Jaguars. Wright, the Dolphins fourth-round pick in April, was a healthy scratch against the Jaguars.
Running back Deneric Prince is on the practice squad.
