In case you’re wondering, this is not a trend. Because you know last week this Tiger Team played a top-tier SEC team. This week the Memphis Tigers will remind you why there were high hopes. Tigers should roll.
Memphis Tigers vs Navy This Week will be different
In the passing game, last week’s Tiger opponent was a top-30 defense last year, and possibly better this year. Navy took the field the first week and lost to an FCS opponent. Delaware beat them, their first win over an FBS team since 2007. Over Navy, and that is telling.
Memphis Tiger QB Seth Henigan is in his second year, and last week he wasn’t able to have time, or the ability to hit his receivers in good spaces. This week they play Navy. This week the Tigers play the team last year ranked dead last in the country in pass defense. If the stats and the odds hold up, it should be a good healing process for the Tigers.
Memphis Tigers vs Navy this week will be different
In the running game, last week Coach Ryan Silverfield started Brandon Thomas, and Jevyon Ducker came off the bench. Or rather, blasted off the bench with a stellar 50-yard run down the left sideline for a touchdown. He outgained Thomas in fewer attempts. The running back logjam lessened with the departure of RB Rodrigues Clark this week, who confirmed this in a tweet.
It’s all love 🖤 I will most definitely miss Memphis and my bruddas who i’m locked in with ✊🏾 Minor setback for a MAJOR COMEBACK 💯 #4AI See you next season ❗️ https://t.co/IjnBepgMgR

The running difference will be substantial with the Navy defense being less quick and smaller than last weeks’ opponent. Overall, if the Tigers can limit turnovers and stay focused in their defense, they should prevail against a Navy team at home.
