The Los Angeles Rams’ receiving corps improved last season compared to 2022. They ranked 21st in receptions, 24th in targets, 27th in receiving yards, 28th in receiving touchdowns, and 23rd in receiving first downs in 2022 and ranked 17th in receptions, 14th in targets, 10th in receiving yards, 15th in receiving touchdowns, and 10th in receiving first downs in 2023.
The Rams addressed the position in free agency by re-signing Demarcus Robinson and a former 5th-round pick.

The Buccaneers drafted Johnson in the 5th round, 161st overall of the 2020 NFL Draft. Johnson played two full seasons with Tom Brady and had 48 receptions on 72 targets for 529 yards and two touchdowns in 31 regular season games and six starts. He also had seven receptions on 13 targets for 76 yards in six playoff games.
Johnson played in 14 games, starting three in 2020, and had 12 receptions on 17 targets for 169 yards and two touchdowns. He also had two receptions on four targets for 31 yards in four playoff games.
Johnson played in 17 games, starting three in 2021, and had 36 receptions on 55 targets for 360 yards. He also had five receptions on nine targets for 45 yards in two playoff games.
The Buccaneers waived Johnson during the final round of roster cuts on August 30, 2022.

The Houston Texans claimed Johnson off waivers on August 31. Johnson played in two games with the Texans and didn’t record a statistic with the team. The team released him on October 25.
The Buccaneers signed Johnson to the practice squad on October 31.
The Las Vegas Raiders signed Johnson to a reserve/future contract on January 25, but the team waived him on May 15.

The Rams signed Johnson on May 30. The team waived him during the final round of roster cuts and re-signed him to the practice squad shortly after. Johnson spent most of the season on their practice squad but was promoted to the active roster in Week 18, where he had two receptions on three targets for eight yards and one touchdown.
