The Los Angeles Chargers are wearing it on Thursday, trailing 42-0 at the half on primetime, but at least the team’s social media account is trying to weather the storm. The Chargers’ Twitter account (also known as X) tweeted after the team’s first score despite trailing by an astonishing 42 points against the Las Vegas Raiders. Quarterback Easton Stick found wide receiver Josh Palmer for the team’s lone game highlight.

The tweet garnished over three million views before the conclusion of Thursday’s game, with many NFL fans piling on about the team’s misfortune in the replies.
Los Angeles Chargers: Getting Doors Blown Off During Thursday Night Football
The Chargers trailed 42-0 heading into the half, the second-biggest halftime deficit in NFL history. Only the 2009 New England Patriots took a more significant lead into the locker room, leading the Tennessee Titans by 45 through the game’s first two quarters. The Chargers coughed up six touchdowns through the first 30 minutes of Thursday Night Football, including four touchdowns to quarterback Aidan O’Connell. Meanwhile, O’Connell threw for no scores in his team’s 3-0 loss against the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday.
The offense was equally disappointing, losing three fumbles and allowing two sacks through two quarters. The rushing attack was non-existent, with lead rusher Austin Ekeler struggling to find running room.
Los Angeles Chargers: Eyeing Historic Loss
The Chargers trail the Las Vegas Raiders 63-7 early in the fourth quarter of Thursday Night Football. The 63 points scored by the Raiders are the most allowed by the Chargers in franchise history, per NFL broadcaster Al Michaels. The 63 points are also the most posted by the Raiders in team history. The franchise played its first season in 1960. The NFL record for most points scored in a game is 72 by the 1966 Washington Commanders.
