The Los Angeles Chargers have made a few notable moves during this free agency period. It involved announcing the release of WR Mike Williams. Now, the Chargers are set to gain a new offensive weapon that could help pick up some of the slack. Read below to find out more.
Los Angeles Chargers Reportedly Signing TE Hayden Hurst
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Los Angeles Chargers are getting ready to sign TE Hayden Hurst. He spent last season with the Carolina Panthers. Considering the team finished with the worst record in the NFL without a first round pick to show for it, this could be a nice fresh start for Hurst.
What Hayden Hurst Offers
So, what does Hayden Hurst offer the Chargers? He only played nine games last season. During those nine games, he had a touchdown reception and 184 receiving yards. At 31 years old, Hurst hopes to show signs of improvement and increase those numbers during the 2024 season.
The Chargers hope Hurst can help them improve upon a disappointing 2023 season. It resulted in the firing of head coach Brandon Staley. Now, Jim Harbaugh looks to right the ship with Hurst as an added weapon.
