The Los Angeles Chargers have been changing up their entire coaching staff this offseason after hiring Jim Harbaugh as the head coach. There have been rumors circling the NFL world that former quarterback Colin Kaepernick could be a potential option to be the next quarterbacks coach for the Chargers under his former head coach. While Los Angeles has already decided who their next quarterbacks coach will be, the team is expected to hire a former San Francisco 49ers player to coach under Harbaugh.
Los Angeles Chargers Expected To Hire Former 49ers Player As A Coach
While the rumors regarding Kaepernick joining Los Angeles as a coach have now been put to rest, the team will still have a former 49er who played under Harbaugh on the coaching staff. The Chargers are expected to hire former All-Pro linebacker NaVorro Bowman to be their next linebackers coach, reuniting him with Harbaugh. While the two sides have not officially agreed on a deal, the belief around the league is that it will be a done deal soon. Bowman spent last season as a defensive analyst at Maryland, which makes him a good fit for the job.

Many fans and analysts believe that this hire by the Chargers will be a great one for the foreseeable future as Bowman was one of the most dominant linebackers in the league during his time playing. While playing seven seasons in the NFL for the 49ers and the Las Vegas Raiders, the linebacker recorded 585 solo tackles, 213 assists, 14 sacks, six fumble recoveries, and five interceptions. He was selected to be in three Pro Bowls and is also a former All-Pro, which has made him a great option for Harbaugh and the Chargers defense.
