Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has made a lot of headlines this season for attempting an NFL comeback. The former quarterback has been a popular topic of discussion amongst the NFL world for taking a knee during the National Anthem to protest police brutality and is either loved or hated by fans. He has had the support of many public figures, however, one of the most popular rappers seemed to go behind Kaepernick’s back with a pitch he had to the commissioner Roger Goodell.
Jay-Z Stabs Kaepernick In The Back
Big-time rapper Jay-Z is receiving major backlash over his new NFL partnership to amplify social justice as Kaepernick remains out of the league. The partnership does not include Kaepernick, which has captured the attention of the supporters of the former 49ers quarterback. Kaepernick’s attorney, Mark Geragos, even stepped in and called the deal “cold-blooded” by the rapper.

Colin Kaepernick’s Attorney Responds
Here is what the former quarterback’s attorney had to say about the deal:
This deal between Jay-Z and the NFL crosses the intellectual picket line. I can confirm to you that the deal was already done before any conversation that [Kaepernick] had with Jay-Z and he certainly didn’t have any conversations with the NFL.
The league and the rapper’s label have not responded to these comments by Kaepernick’s team, which has caused bad blood between both fanbases. Kaepernick has not played in the league since 2016 after he was put into the national spotlight when he became the first player in the NFL to take a knee during the National Anthem to protest racism and police brutality, which the league has since tried to preach.
Should Kaepernick Be Back In The League?
Kaepernick’s initial protest sparked a movement by other players around the league to do the same, which led to the former quarterback quickly becoming one of the hottest topics around the country. One of these players includes former safety Eric Reid, who slammed Jay-Z for not including the former quarterback in his pitch to the league, which has now been “championed” by the NFL, and still “blackballing” Kaepernick.
Do you think the rapper was wrong for not including Kaepernick, and why do you think the former quarterback still does not have a job within the NFL?
