Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams has been at the center of much discussion and rumor over the last few days. Late last week, he popped up on the Raiders’ injury report with a hamstring injury suffered in practice. The injury caused him to miss the team’s 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns.
Adams’ late injury started speculation that he was unhappy in Las Vegas and wants out. After the Raiders’ Week Three loss to the Carolina Panthers, head coach Antonio Pierce said that certain players made “business decisions,” implying they were not giving their full effort. Many wondered if he meant Adams.
On Monday, Pierce liked a social media post that said Adams had played his last game in Las Vegas.
On Tuesday, Adams informed the team he wanted to be traded.
Las Vegas Raiders Wide Receiver Davante Adams Will Not Play on Sunday vs the Denver Broncos
There are fans, of course, who think that Adams does not really have a hamstring injury. Instead, they believe he is simply refusing to play until he gets traded.
That being said, there is no way for fans to prove that notion. Hamstring injuries can linger for weeks, which only has fueled the rumors that Adams is not really hurt.
Officially, though, Adams has a hamstring injury. Furthermore, the Raiders announced on Wednesday that their star wide receiver will not play on Sunday:

It is noteworthy that the Raiders are not in any hurry to trade Adams. They want to make sure that they get the most out of their return. However, they also have not placed him on injured reserve, which would indicate that he will not miss much more time.
Given his current status, the three-time All-Pro will have to pass a physical before any trade can be completed. If his hamstring is really hurt, it could take a few weeks before he is able to pass one.
In other words, fans should not expect a very quick resolution to the drama.
