Maxx Crosby and the Las Vegas Raiders are heading into the 2024 NFL season with huge goals. They’re ready to get back into the playoffs and start becoming contenders in the AFC.
During the offseason, the team made the big decision to bring back Antonio Pierce as head coach. Crosby was a huge force behind making that happen.
Now, the expectations are a lot higher for the Las Vegas Raiders than they have been in quite some time. Las Vegas showed signs of contention after Pierce replaced Josh McDaniels last season and they’re expected to take another step this year.
While Crosby is going to be a huge factor in whether or not they can compete for a playoff spot, his new teammate will be just as important on the defensive side of the football.
Las Vegas Raiders Star Maxx Crosby Reveals Massive Take On Christian Wilkins
During NFL free agency this offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders went out and made a big splash on the defensive line. Las Vegas was able to get a deal done with defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.
Early on, Crosby has absolutely loved what the new lineman is bringing to the defense.
“He’s a worker, so I love having guys that are like-minded around. So, it’s been a hell of a start so far. We have a lot of work to do, but yeah, we’re just (feeding) off each other’s energy. We love football and that’s really all that matters.”
In return, Wilkins talked about Crosby. He’s excited to be working with the superstar pass-rusher as well.
“I’ve known Maxx for a long time, since college. But seeing it up close and personal each and every day, it’s like, ‘Damn, this guy doesn’t stop,’ He’s about the right stuff, and that’s good to see. So that even challenges me, just mentally, every day, like, ‘Alright, I have to bring it because I know he’s going to bring it,’ and vice versa. We kind of feed off each other there.”
Clearly, the dynamic between the two defensive stars is going well. Both Crosby and Wilkins are legitimate stars and will need to feed off of each other to take the Las Vegas Raiders’ defense to the next level.
The front office has been starting to make all the right moves. For the first time in awhile, the franchise seems to be heading in the right direction very quickly.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the 2024 season has in store for the Raiders. Led by Crosby and Wilkins, the defense is expected to take a huge step from where it was in 2023.
