The Cleveland Browns boast the league’s least productive offense, but are likely to get a major boost Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
While the Browns have yet to score 20 points in a game this season, and just dealt star wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, the backfield will be getting some reinforcements this week with the anticipated return of running back Nick Chubb.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters Friday that even though Chubb is officially listed as “questionable” on the team’s final injury report of the week, that the expectation is that the veteran back will be back on the field for the first time this season on Sunday afternoon.
Chubb, 28, has worked his way all the way back from a gruesome knee injury suffered in Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season.
Through the first six seasons of his career, Chubb has rushed for 6,511 yards and 48 touchdowns.
Cleveland had previously opened Chubb’s practice window on October 1, and he has shown he is healthy enough to get back on the field and into the offensive lineup.
