Hoyer was in Las Vegas because of Josh McDaniels
The Raiders brought in Hoyer last season to run the offense of then-head coach Josh McDaniels. Hoyer had a couple of stints with the New England Patriots when McDaniels was there.
Hoyer started in one game for the Raiders when they lost 30-12 to the Chicago Bears. Hoyer was 17-32 for 129 yards and two interceptions in the loss.
