Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has been involved in a lot of rumors since he suffered a torn Achilles that ended his season. The quarterback will become a free agent after the 2023 season, which has caused a lot of questions about his future in Minnesota. He will most definitely be one of the most targeted free agents during the offseason, and Cousins made it very clear where he would like to play to finish his career.
Kirk Cousins asked if he thought about his future with the #Vikings since he'll be a free agent in the spring. Admits "your mind goes there and you know that's coming" but adds: "March will happen in March. It's not time yet. We have so much to focus on this season." https://t.co/T5d7ui2cJ2

Kirk Cousins Rumors
Cousins has been with the Vikings for the last six seasons and has cemented himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the league, which has led to him becoming a fan favorite. He was asked about his future in Minnesota, to which he told reporters that he would like to remain with the team, but he does not know what will happen once the free agency discussions start to swirl.
“Certainly your mind goes there and you know that’s coming,” the veteran quarterback said. “But similar to what we said in April or August, March will happen in March. February will happen in February. Those conversations will happen, but it’s just not time yet. I just believe that there’s more of the story up ahead, that’s what I really believe in the core of my being.”
Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Situation
Cousins finished his 2023 campaign with 2,331 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Since his injury, it has been Joshua Dobbs filling in for him as the starter, and he has made a great initial first impression, which has led to rumors speculating that Cousins could be dealt to another team in the offseason.
Minnesota is currently 6-4 and in second place in the NFC North division. They have won five straight games since starting the season 1-4 and have been the hottest team in the league despite the injury to Cousins. The veteran made it clear that he would like to remain in Minnesota, but if Dobbs continues to play well and brings the team to the postseason, we could see the team look into possibly trading away their franchise quarterback.
