It appears the buzz at the NFL combine last week regarding Kirk Cousins, and the Atlanta Falcons has more than legs to it. It soon could have wheels, the kind that are attached to moving trucks.
Kirk Cousins became more popular for the Falcons last week
When the combine started, Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields’ name was attached to the Falcons. By the end of the week, Cousins was linked as the man who would most likely be the signal caller in Atlanta for the 2024 season.
Cousins is considering moving his family to Atlanta
Per Mike Florio with NBC Sports, Cousins is considering getting ready to move his family to Atlanta, where he could be set to sign with the Falcons:
“We can’t get into the specifics, for now. But we’re getting very credible indications that Cousins is seriously considering moving his family to Atlanta. Which would mean, obviously, that he’d be signing with the Falcons.
The Falcons have always been the top alternative to the Vikings for Cousins, who becomes an unrestricted free agent next Wednesday. And for good reason. His wife, Julie, grew up in nearby Alpharetta, Georgia. Her parents still live there.”
The Atlanta Falcons could have their star quarterback soon
Cousins looks like a shoo-in for the Falcons job. The Vikings still have a few days to try and pay Cousins what he wants to stay in Minnesota. Cousins wants a hefty paycheck and a chance to win the Super Bowl.
Given how strong the NFC North is compared to the NFC South, his best bet might be trying to beat out a division with Bryce Young, Baker Mayfield (maybe), and Derek Carr under center.
