The (#20) Kentucky Wildcats (5-0) and the (#1) Georgia Bulldogs (5-0) will clash on Saturday night. Kentucky ran wild in their 33-14 win over a then-ranked Florida Gators squad in Week 5. Running back Ray Davis scampered for 280 yards and three scores on 26 carries. Meanwhile, Georgia survived a scare from the Auburn Tigers on the road 27-20. Quarterback Carson Beck hit superstar tight end Brock Bowers for the eventual game-winning touchdown with 2:52 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Kentucky Wildcats Key Stats
The Kentucky Wildcats house one of the better offenses in the SEC. They score 37 points per game despite a lackluster passing attack. North Carolina State transfer Devin Leary has completed 58% of his passes for 1,129 yards and ten scores against five picks through five games. However, the rushing ability of Kentucky is elite. The Wildcats average an SEC-best 6.5 yards per rush attempt on 26 carries per game. Kentucky is in the top third of the conference in yards per play but also turnovers committed.
Defensively, Kentucky is just one of three teams in the SEC to hold their opponents under 16 points per game (15.2). However, the secondary has gotten tested, with opposing passers completing 65% of their passes. Fortunately for the defense, they allow just one passing touchdown per game. Additionally, the front seven is one of the best in the country, holding opposing backfields to 2.5 yards per rush attempt. They are also one of the better teams in forcing turnovers.
Georgia Bulldogs Key Stats
The Georgia Bulldogs have remained exceptional on offense in the post-Stetson Bennett era. The Bulldogs have scored 38.6 points per game, the fourth-highest mark in the SEC. Georgia gunslinger Carson Beck has been outstanding, throwing for 1,497 yards and seven scores against two picks across his team’s first five games. However, they average just 4.4 yards per rush attempt, a lackluster average for a usually dominant Georgia backfield.
Georgia holds opponents to an SEC-low 13 points per game. Opposing passers have been held in check, completing just 56% of their passes for less than one touchdown per game. However, they allow 4.0 yards per rush attempt, placing them in the bottom half of the SEC in that metric. The Bulldog’s excellent secondary keeps them in the top three of the conference in the fewest yards per game allowed and the fewest yards per play allowed.
Game Prediction
I like the Kentucky Wildcats to cover the spread against the Georgia Bulldogs. They are catching more than two touchdowns despite having one of the country’s better rushing attacks and defenses. As for Georgia, they have been uncharacteristically average in controlling the line of scrimmage. Kentucky deserved to be ranked before Saturday’s tilt and will prove their worth in a close game against the Bulldogs. So, let’s roll with Kentucky in this Week 6 contest.
