The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the most popular teams in all of sports. Of course, appearing in the Super Bowl (and winning it) as often as they have was bound to make them one of the NFL’s biggest draws. However, tight end Travis Kelce dating Taylor Swift, arguably the most famous musical artist in the world right now, also has brought many new fans to the Chiefs’ base.

Indeed, Kansas City has a plethora of fans that did not follow football until Swift and Kelce went public with their relationship. And while many people enjoy news and gossip regarding the couple, others are put off by the attention paid to them during pre and in-game telecasts.

Hallmark Made a Christmas Movie Based on the Kansas City Chiefs

Last year, Hallmark produced a Christmas move entitled “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.” The family-friendly media company makes dozens of Christmas movies every year, and wanted to make one that, they thought, would expand their audience.

Unlike Kelce and Swift, the couple in the movie are not a famous player and singer. However, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, Kelce’s mother, Donna, and several former Kansas City players have cameos in the film.

Needless to say, there will not likely be anymore movies made about the Chiefs, especially ones that are centered around the holidays.

That being said, Kansas City is hoping that they will be in the living rooms and gathering of millions of fans on Christmas every year.

The Kansas City Chiefs Have Asked the NFL to Give Them the Christmas Day Game Every Year

The NFL started scheduling games regularly on Christmas five years ago. In each of the past two years, Kansas City has been one of the teams playing on America’s biggest holiday.

And they would like to continue doing so.

Per a report in The Athletic:

“When it comes to domestic stand-alone games, the Chiefs have requested that the NFL make them a fixture on Christmas Day, according to a league source. The Chiefs, who have played on Christmas Day the past two seasons, want to be a staple on that holiday, similar to the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day.

“This year, the NFL will have three games on Christmas Day, the first two streaming on Netflix and the third as part of Amazon Prime’s ‘Thursday Night Football’ package (the holiday falls on a Thursday), an industry source confirmed Tuesday. The news was first reported by John Ourand of Puck.”

Of course, Kelce’s and Swift’s holiday plans have not been much of a topic since the tight end has played on Christmas throughout their relationship.

And it looks like he will continue to do so until he retires. That is, if the NFL grants Kansas City’s request.
