Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce Isn’t Scared About Playing In Loaded AFC

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are going to have a tough time defending their championship in 2023. The AFC is full of teams that have Super Bowl aspirations and the gauntlet to teams to get through is brutal. While some teams may be scared, Kelce is welcoming the pressure.

In an interview with NBC Sports’ Peter King, Kelce talked about how the loaded conference is actually more motivating.

“That’s when that’s when I want the most man. That’s when I want to be able to come out on top is when I get everybody’s best shot. It’s been awesome to hear how everybody says the AFC is stacked now that we got another Hall of Fame quarterback coming through with Aaron Rodgers going to the Jets. And you know, the more the merrier.”

“I want to play the best of the best at this point in my career because I know that we’re a great team. And with that being said, you know, rising to the occasion, find a way to win those big time games. That really gets the juices going for me.”

Kelce is ready to show that the Chiefs are the kings of the conference. He clearly is no stranger to big games and is ready to have many more on the schedule in 2023.

    Can The Chiefs Repeat?

The issue for any defending champion is that every team is just a little more focused when playing that team. Every team will have the Chiefs circled on their calendar to try and prove that they can hang with the cream of the crop in the AFC. The Chiefs also are going to need a couple of wide receivers to come out of the woodwork. Kadarius Toney is already dealing with a knee injury. Skyy Moore has shown some promise but it may take another young player stepping up. Ultimately, any time you have Patrick Mahomes, you are going to be in the mix.

The Kansas City Chiefs are counting on another huge season out of Travis Kelce. He should see no shortage of targets and has consistently produced any time he is on the field. The AFC will be a gauntlet but the Chiefs have done a gauntlet before.
