The Kansas City Chiefs had their Super Bowl parade today to celebrate their third world championship in five years. Several fans gathered in the streets of Kansas City to see their team hoist up the Lombardi trophy once again following the team’s overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers. While it was supposed to be a celebration, things took a turn for the worst at the end of the parade when multiple gunshots were fired, ending the celebration in a way nobody wanted to see.
Shots Fired At Kansas City Chiefs Parade
Police at the scene said that several people were wounded in the shooting just after the parade and rally ended at Union Station. According to police, two armed people were taken into custody for more investigation, and people were asked to avoid the parking garage in the area so that first responders could treat the victims of the shooting.

Police Clearing Out The Area
There is a heavy police presence currently at the scene to ensure everyone’s safety after several people were reportedly struck by the shots. The gunfire occurred on the west side of Union Station and there were reports of multiple people with gunshot wounds, causing police to tell people to leave the area immediately.
We need people to exit the area as quickly and safely as possible and avoid the parking garage to facilitate treatment of shooting victims.
Thoughts And Prayers For Fans
Multiple local news stations reported hearing the gunshots, and then seeing people and emergency crews tending to people that were struck. While the Chiefs will still celebrate their championship, thoughts and prayers from around the world are pouring in for the victims and everyone involved in the tragic situation.
