The Kansas City Chiefs took care of business in the first round of the 2024 playoffs against the Miami Dolphins. They won handily by a final score of 26-7. Star QB Patrick Mahomes won yet another home playoff game in his illustrious career. However, his first road playoff game could be looming.
Patrick Mahomes’ Amazing Playoff Career
Patrick Mahomes has now played in 15 playoff games in just six seasons. Incredibly, he has made it to at least the conference championship in each year he has started. Three of his 15 playoff games are Super Bowl appearances, with two of those appearances resulting in titles.
So, what about the other 12 playoff games? They have all been at home, including tonight’s win over the Miami Dolphins.
If that was not enough, Mahomes is 10-2 in those home playoff games. He has never lost in a round before the conference championship. Thanks to the Chiefs’ dominant play tonight, that streak continues.
Patrick Mahomes’ Wild Card Win
So, how did Mahomes do in tonight’s game? There was little to complain about. Mahomes went 23-41, had 262 passing yards, as well as a touchdown pass. Best of all, he did not turn the ball over.
Kansas City Chiefs Moving Forward
Mahomes has had an incredible playoff career thus far. However, there is something looming that may be inevitable for Mahomes to face now. That is a road playoff game.
If he has to face that next week, it will be in Buffalo. Considering Buffalo just had to postpone their playoff game due to weather concerns, this should be the last place that Mahomes should want to make his road playoff debut.
However, considering that the Chiefs just played in a game that felt like it was -24-degree temperatures, the elements should not bother the Chiefs. If anything, the fans and atmosphere will be the bigger challenge.

He didn’t win by himself…TEAM WON
I get ticked at these news reports. I’d like to see Machomes win a football game all by himself. What about giving credit to the team. Without them the game wouldn’t even be played.
