Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is one of the key factors for his team’s success over the years. But when it comes to the offseason, there’s just one thing he wishes his players stop doing.
Reid has cemented his legacy as one of the NFL’s most successful head coaches over the past two and a half decades. Starting with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999, Reid has compiled an impressive 258-144-1 record, including 26-16-0 in the playoffs.
After being fired by the Eagles in 2012, Reid joined the Chiefs and has since guided them to a dominant 128-51-0 record, including three Super Bowl championships in 2019, 2022, and 2023. Reid is known for his innovative West Coast offense and ability to get the best out of his quarterbacks, with several winning individual awards under his tutelage.
In the most recent playoffs, the Chiefs continued their dominant run, making their sixth consecutive AFC Championship Game appearance. They defeated the Ravens on the road to reach their fourth Super Bowl in five years, where they avenged their Super Bowl LIV loss by defeating the 49ers 25-22 in overtime, with their second-ranked defense playing a key role throughout the playoffs.
Reid’s consistent success and ability to adapt his offense to the strengths of his players have cemented his status as one of the premier head coaches of the 21st century.
Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid Got Real About The One Thing He Wants His Players To Avoid
Even during the offseason, various Chiefs players have been involved in non-football stuff, such as tight end George Kittle being present for Wrestlemania 39. In an article by Marc Raimondi for ESPN, though, Reid stated one thing his players should never do.
“All the dangerous things,” Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid said when asked what he’d like his players to avoid. “Things where they get hurt, you don’t want them to do,” Raimondi wrote.
At this point in time, Kittles has experienced a massive weight loss after going through core muscle surgery. For his part, quarterback Patrick Mahomes II has appeared in several WWE shows and interacted with the company’s stars.
With the NFL slated to return soon, Kansas City players will focus on the football and nothing else. Hopefully, no one gets hurt in the time between and endanger the Chiefs’ three-peat bid.
