The Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens will be playing for the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl on Sunday. It is undoubtedly the biggest game of the season for both teams thus far. The Chiefs will play their first road AFC Championship game during the Patrick Mahomes Era while the Ravens will be hosting the AFC Championship game for the first time in franchise history.
However, a little over 24 hours prior to their matchup, one Chiefs starter has already been ruled out.
The Kansas City Chiefs Lose Weapon For AFC Championship Game Vs. The Baltimore Ravens
Jordan Sigler of Gridiron Heroics first reported it for our site:
According to a statement by the Chiefs, the team ruled out wide receiver Kadarius Toney for Sunday’s game. The Chefs listed personal reasons and his hip injury as the reasons Toney was ruled out for the AFC Championship Game.
Toney was listed as questionable to play on Friday’s injury report due to the hip injury. Nothing was put on the injury report regarding a “personal” issue before Saturday’s downgrade. As of this publishing, it’s unclear what personal issue Toney is going through this weekend.
Toney, a former New York Giants first-round pick, has struggled this season with the Chiefs. He’s had numerous drops and was called offsides on what would have been a game-winning touchdown over the Buffalo Bills in the regular season. Chiefs fans called for Toney to be benched during the season.
Head coach Andy Reid defended Toney after he dropped a pass in the Chiefs’ win over the New England Patriots in December. Reid said he would consider benching Toney after the game but said Toney had done “some good things” and was still relatively young for an NFL wide receiver.

I’m sorry but personal…? Bro wants to celebrate his birthday over a AFCC?

I agree. Dropping pass after pass is personal.

Well then that’s it for me.
Either the Chiefs really don’t like Toney or he’s literally Mr. Glass I’m done with this dude.
He’s healthy for 3 games a year and didn’t make any sorta impact when available.Damn it, I wanted Toney to be the guy,
oh well. Wasted talent.— Truth is Freedom🇺🇸 (@Ken_Bobo_Dub) January 27, 2024
