Kansas City Chiefs Fantasy Football Outlook

The Kansas City Chiefs should provide most fantasy football teams with some good value. An elite quarterback along with a TE drafted at the first overall at his position. That alone brings significant value for your team, but what about the rest of their offense? Take a look here at the outlook of the Kansas City Chiefs offense and the information to keep in mind when thinking about adding a member of the Chiefs to your team!

    No Tyreek? No Problem.

During the 2022 NFL offseason, the Chiefs lost one of the most prolific fantasy football players in the league. Many bring up concerns for the Chiefs and how they will be without Tyreek Hill. I believe there is high upside to several fantasy players on the Chiefs despite Hill not being there. Over the last four years, over 27% of Patrick Mahomes fantasy points went to Hill. That is a lot, but I believe that the Chiefs wide-receiver core is even better this year. The Chiefs added more depth than years prior. Remember, JuJu Smith-Schuster has had 3,726 yards and 26 touchdowns over his career behind a older Ben Roethlisberger. He only played in five games last year, so the upside for him behind a young star like Patrick Mahomes is through the roof. Adding Marquez Valdez-Scantling is also a big help. MVS has been a reliable wide-receiver by only missing six games in his young career. He brings on a deep ball threat like he did in Green Bay and reports from the OTAs are very good. There has been reports of a good connection between the two and some analyst believe he could be there wide-receiver one even.

I've been raving, and I will continue to rave: No new #Chiefs pass-catcher looks more comfortable with Mahomes than WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The new QB-WR duo is so in sync. MVS is as smooth a receiver as I remember. The two combined for Thursday's play of the day.

Oh, and lets not forget the addition of Sky Moore. Moore brings speed and the ability to be a great route runner. For Patrick Mahomes, opportunities for success could not be more plentiful. Especially with having a top fantasy tight end such as Travis Kelce. Kelce has always been a valuable target for Mahomes and of course your fantasy team. With around 25% of Mahomes fantasy points going to Kelce over the past four seasons, it is safe to say he will still be a major factor this year.

Kansas City Chiefs run game. How will they effect your fantasy football team?

CEH at OTAs running the ball
Clyde Edwards-Helaire seems to be fully healthy at OTAS

The Kansas City Chiefs added Ronald Jones, kept Jerick McKinnon, and have a healthy Clyde Edwars-Helaire. The question remains, how will this running game be split? Though we do not quite know how the carries will be divided between them, we can expect more involvement this year. It is clear the Chiefs want to run the ball after what they did during the offseason. Ronald Jones has potential to be a big part of that this year. Jones had a good season before losing his starting role to Leonard Fournette in Tampa Bay. I believe he can bring back what he once had a couple seasons ago. Jones can be a good third down back or even goal line back, which brings upside to touchdowns  CEH was also a very high valued fantasy target when he first came into the league. CEH can be involved in the passing game heavily and always has the upside of breakout plays. With that being said, it is good to keep an eye on this run game because there is a lot of potential here.

    Kansas City Chiefs Player’s ADP:

    Quarterback:

    Patrick Mahomes- 34

    Running Backs:

    Clyde Edwards-Helaire- 78

    Ronald Jones- 123

    Jerick McKinnon- 268

    Wide-Receivers:

    JuJu Smith-Schuster- 70

    Marquez Valdez-Scantling- 143

    Sky Moore- 133

    Mecole Hardman- 148

    Tight-End:

    Travis Kelce- 15

All ADP is according to NFC Fantasy Sports
