The 11-1 Kansas City Chiefs host their division rivals, the 8-4 Los Angeles Chargers, at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for their 13th game and the final matchup between these two teams in the regular season on Sunday Night Football. If all goes well for the defending Super Bowl Champions, who can accomplish an impressive feat and do some damage in the AFC Playoff Picture and their division. With a win over the Chargers, they would clinch the AFC West for the ninth consecutive season, the second-longest streak in NFL history.
The Kansas City Chiefs have a major problem on the offensive line
Left tackle continues to be a problem for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offensive line. As previously discussed on Gridiron Heroics, second-round pick Kingsley Suamataia opened 2024 as the starting left tackle but only started the first two games, and they decided to bench him during the fourth quarter of Week 2, and he since lost the starting job.

Second-year and former third-round pick Wanya Morris has since then replaced the second-round pick in the starting rotation, starting the last ten games (Weeks 3-13). Morris has played a little better than Suamataia, but he, too, has struggled to protect Mahomes’ blindside. It was a matter of time before the Chiefs would replace him with a Pro Bowler, whom they recently signed.
The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to make a massive change on the offensive line for SNF
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the expectation is for newly acquired Pro Bowler D.J. Humphries to start at left tackle for the first time this season against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football. Humphries will be the third player to start at left tackle in 2024. He is tasked with protecting Mahomes’ blindside against the Chargers’ elite EDGE rushers.
