The 2-0 Kansas City Chiefs play against the 1-1 Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for their Sunday Night Football matchup. The Chiefs dropped one spot in PFF’s offensive line rankings, falling from 4th to 5th for Week 3. Their drop in the O-line rankings is because their rookie struggled tremendously against an elite pass rusher.
The Kansas City Chiefs rookie struggled in Week 2
After having a decent season debut, rookie second-rounder Kingsley Suamataia had a disastrous performance against Bengals’ elite 3-time Pro Bowler Trey Hendrickson. Suamataia allowed four pressures and two sacks. The Chiefs benched him in favor of Wanya Morris late in the fourth quarter. Morris played their final 14 offensive snaps.
The Kansas City Chiefs have made a position change
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Chiefs have made a position change at left tackle. Wanya Morris will start Sunday night while Kingsley Suamataia heads to the bench. Although Morris will start, Andy Reid told reporters on Friday that he expects both players to play.
The #Chiefs will have a new starting left tackle tonight against the #Falcons, with Wanya Morris now protecting Patrick Mahomes blindside.

Andy Reid is not giving up on their rookie just yet
“He’s obviously got things he needs to work on and get worked out,” Reid said of Suamataia. “I felt we needed to take a step back to take a step forward and I still think that was the right thing to do there. If he’s out this week, then it’ll be the right thing to do with that.
“We haven’t lost confidence in him. He was going against a good player and he’s got to learn from it.”
