San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was the victim of a gunshot wound on Saturday. Some commenters are using their platform on social media to connect the prior policies of the Democrat nominee for President, Kamala Harris, to the tragedy.
Per Pearsall’s teammate, Deebo Samuel, Pearsall is “good” following a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the shooting was allegedly in connection to a robbery attempt over a Rolex watch. Pearsall was headed to an autograph signing event.

Per an update by the San Francisco Police Department, the suspect and Pearsall (victim) suffered injuries:
During the attempted robbery, a physical altercation ensued, and both the suspect and victim were injured. The suspect is in custody and charges are pending at this time. All information is preliminary, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
Kamala Harris’ legacy brought up on social media
Quite a few commentators on social media connected Harris’ political legacy in California to creating a dangerous atmosphere in San Francisco that would lead to dangerous shootings like the one that happened to Pearsall.
Harris served as the district attorney in San Francisco from 2004-2011. She served as the attorney general of California from 2011-2017.
Harris has faced criticism for the actions her office took during her time as a district attorney. Donald Trump’s campaign claims she was soft on crime.
Frankly, not enough information has been released to understand why the shooting happened or how public policy might have influenced the shooting. But in an election year, many people aren’t waiting for the facts.
