Everybody in Tuscaloosa knew Alabama would take a step back on the field this season after losing the greatest coach in college football history, Nick Saban, and replacing him with Kalen DeBoer, who had never coached in the South.
Fans thought they would head to the college football playoffs after the Crimson Tide took down Georgia at the end of September. Still, two bad losses to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma, plus another loss to Tennessee, kept Alabama out of the playoffs. Now, college football fans are happy not to see the best program in college football compete for a title.
There is no excuse that Alabama should miss playoffs where they allow 12 teams, and now Crimson Tide fans and other sports fans are putting pressure on DeBoer to fix things quickly, or he will be looking for a new job soon.
