The Eagles came into the season with one of the best wide receiver corps in the league with A.J. Brown and DeVonte Smith. They signed seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones to the practice squad last week.
Jones was elevated for the Eagles Week 7 win over the Miami Dolphins. He caught one pass for three yards. The Eagles have chosen to keep Jones on the practice squad to keep as much depth on the roster as possible before the team must sign Jones to the 53-man roster.

The Eagles can elevate Jones one more time before they have to sign him to the 53-man roster to be eligible to play in games. But for now, the Eagles are being savvy in keeping as much depth on the roster before they have to make room on the 53-man roster for Jones.
