The Philadelphia Eagles signed a five-time All-Pro wide receiver to their 53-man roster just a couple of weeks after bringing him on to the practice squad. The Eagles have made some big midseason moves in the hopes of making a long playoff run.
The Eagles traded with the Tennessee Titans for safety Kevin Byard to fortify their secondary. They signed wide receiver Julio Jones to the practice squad to add some extra juice to the offense.

The Eagles are set up for a deep playoff run this winter. It was expected the Eagles would sign Jones to the active roster sooner rather than later. The Eagles had one more elevation to use for Jones before they needed to sign him to the 53-man roster but chose not to use it.
