A Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl XLVIII team member is set to retire after a two-decade career in professional football. The Seahawks have had two players retire in the previous week, as running back Bryant Koback stepped away from football.
A former Seattle Seahawks punter is set to retire
Per a report by Bob Condotta with Seattle Times Sports, former Seahawks punter and fan favorite Jon Ryan is set to sign a deal with the team and retire.
Popular punter Jon Ryan, who spends his days working with the minor league baseball teams he owns, is returning to Seattle to sign a deal to retire with the Seahawks.

Jon Ryan played in the NFL and CFL
Ryan played with several teams in the CFL and NFL. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers drafted Ryan in the third round of the 2004 CFL Draft. He signed with the Packers in 2006. He then joined the Seahawks in 2008 and stayed with the team through the 2017 season.
Ryan played briefly with the Buffalo Bills in 2018 before joining the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He last played for the Edmonton Elks in the 2022 season.
Ryan’s had a 44.7 punting-yard average in the NFL. He punted inside the opponent’s 20-yard line 311 times.
Ryan became a co-owner of the Portland Pickles and Cleburne Railroaders.
