Joey Porter, former linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, recently expressed his hate for the AFC North Rivals of his former team. The AFC North teams include the Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns. While NFL teams are known to be hard rivals with each other, with players being almost real-life enemies.
Currently, the Steelers are reigning in the AFC North after winning ten games and losing three matchups, while the Baltimore Ravens are second with a current 8-5 record. The Bengals are in third place with five wins and eight defeats, and the Browns are last with an unimpressive 3-10 record on the season. Recently, Porter spoke about his perspective on the rivalry, revealing him to be a hard-core Steeler for life.
“It’s way more intense than anybody can speak on it,” Porter said. “I don’t even eat in Cleveland. I never eat in Cincinnati and I never eat in Baltimore. Just forget about it. They talk about the good crab in Baltimore. I ain’t never had it.” Porter said via matthewluciow92.
Joey Porter played in the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1999 to 2006, and was an important part of the team’s defense. Porter was also a major reason as to why the team managed to get to the Super Bowl XL. Despite him putting up impressive numbers for the team, Porter was released in 2007 after the Steelers brought in a new head coach, Mike Tomlin.
Joey Porter’s Son, Joey Porter Jr. Has High No. Of Flags Due To Physical Limitations
Joey Porter, former NFL player, has passed on the NL baton to his son Joey Porter Jr. who is currently playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, just like his father. Porter Jr. is presently in his second season for the team, but has still many challenges to cross before becoming an all-rounded player.
For instance, the player has been flagged many times, but this can be blamed due to his physical nature and as a result, penalties have collected for the player. In the recent game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cincinnati Bengals, Porter Jr. got called for six penalties, out of which four were accepted, which make the total number 14 this season.
Despite his limitations, Joey Porter’s son is still one of the most deserving players in the current Philadelphia Eagles team. This season, Porter Jr. has managed 39 solo tackles, along with a lone interception.
