Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers are set to meet for a second interview sometime this week, but it appears that the possibility of a deal being struck between them is even farther along.

Reputable sources like Ian Rapoport and Colin Cowherd have doubled down on Harbugh to LA, and now Mike Garafolo of NFL Network has taken things a step further.

“This feels like we are now in the zone where something could happen with Him Harbaugh and the Chargers in the near future,” Garofolo said. “My understanding is there is an extremely strong offer they have made to him financially.

They are now at the point to where they are going to discuss staffing, obviously when it comes to general manager and the coaching staff, who’s going to work alongside Harbuagh as well, so this feels like it’s advancing to the point where if everybody is comfortable with a lot of the principle factors at play, that this team could move on Jim Harbaugh and try to get him under contract here in the near future.

That feels like where we are, it doesn’t feel like Harbaugh is just toying with the NFL to try to get Michigan to agree to something to jump back to college. This has felt like Harbaugh has had is eyes locked on the NFL and this could be the move in the near future, to Los Angeles, back to California, where he’s coached before where he’s played before, where he would be comfortable. “

The team can also move forward after having adhered to the Rooney Rule, so we expect the confirmation of Harbaugh’s hiring will happen after the second meeting.

It Won’t Be Cheap For The Los Angeles Chargers To Ink A Deal With Jim Harbaugh

Landing Harbaugh has been a huge goal of the Chargers and the fanbase, but it will be interesting to see what kind of monetary deal he will receive. There are reports that it could be around a 5-year $90 million deal, which would be $18 million per season.

Michigan offered a 10-year $125 extension, which would equate to $12.5 per season.

Harbaugh has stated that he wants to win a Super Bowl, and after losing out on the chance with the 49ers—he will be aiming even more to do so with the Chargers.

Jim Harbaugh to the the Los Angeles Chargers makes a ton of sense, and if a deal is made in the near future as expected, we will provide real-time updates along the way.
