Jalen Hurts has been one of the best players in the NFL since getting selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. However, he did something today that has never been done in NFL history. We all know Jalen Hurts is a threat throwing and running with the football but his ability to run is what put him in the history books today.
Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts – who had 10 rushing TDs in 2021, 13 rushing TDs in 2022 and has 11 rushing TDs this season – is now the first quarterback ever with at least 10 rushing TDs in three consecutive seasons. pic.twitter.com/dPVmqvSiMH

With three consecutive seasons with double-digit rushing touchdowns, the Philadelphia Eagles have a gem with Jalen Hurts under center. He has been a force this season as he is 242-of-358 (67.6 completion percentage) for 2,697 yards with 18 passing touchdowns to 10 interceptions while also rushing 114 times for 410 yards (3.6 yards per carry) with 11 rushing touchdowns to put himself in the NFL MVP conversation once again.
Has Jalen Hurts made the Philadelphia Eagles the best team in the NFL?
The Philadelphia Eagles have the best record in the NFL right now as they sit at 10-1 and hold a two-game lead over the San Francisco 49ers for the top seed in the NFC. It seems as if the Eagles forgot about the Super Bowl hangover that is supposed to come after losing in last year’s Super Bowl.
Jalen Hurts has been absolutely incredible but the ability of general manager Howie Roseman to continue to surround him with incredible talent has to be applauded. The Eagles drafted DeVonta Smith, traded for AJ Brown and signed Julio Jones as a free agent. They have an experienced offensive line that is headed by arguably the best center in the league in Jason Kelce.
That is not to mention the defense that is holding their opponents to 21.2 points per game, giving the offense ample opportunities to score and get points. When measuring against the rest of the league, they have defeated the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills.
Now, they gear up for a rematch of the NFC Championship Game from last season as they host the San Francisco 49ers. This stretch was supposed to be their toughest test but they have figured out ways to win their games and prove their dominance. Can anyone stop them this season or will Zach Wilson be the only quarterback to get a win against this Eagles team?
