The Jacksonville Jaguars’ home stadium will be rebranded this weekend for their home opener against the Cleveland Browns. For this week only, the stadium, normally known as EverBank Stadium, will be transformed into TrEverBank Stadium.
The temporary rebranding is part of a collaboration between Jaguars franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence and EverBank, the company that owns the stadium’s naming rights. The makeover will include a full transformation, with the new name replacing the usual branding inside and out.
Lawrence and EverBank announced the partnership on Aug. 22 via EverBank’s website. In an interview with ESPN, Lawrence said he is not a fan of being the center of attention but thought the idea worked well.“I don’t like having too much of the spotlight with stuff like that, but I think it was clever,” Lawrence said. “They have the naming rights for the stadium, so it’s a good play on words, and I was fine with it.”
Lawrence teased the name change on Tuesday in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the words “It’s Time For a Change,” tagging EverBank Stadium. The announcement was accompanied by several EverBank ads across multiple platforms, including one featuring Lawrence overseeing the installation of the TrEverBank Stadium sign.“It’s a pretty cool spot,” Lawrence said in the ESPN interview. “The commercials are going to be pretty funny, and they did a good job with it.”
Jaguars Seek Redemption at Home Against Struggling Browns
The Jaguars are coming off a 20-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins, where Lawrence and the passing attack struggled. Lawrence completed only 12 of 21 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown. The Jaguars’ offense will look to bounce back at TrEverBank Stadium on Sunday against a Browns team that also struggled in a Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and whose quarterback Deshaun Watson faces new sexual assault allegations. For More Great Gridion Heroics Content
