Jacksonville Jaguars: Doug Pederson Makes Announcement Ahead of Cleveland Browns Matchup

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be preparing for their home opener this weekend against the Cleveland Browns. Entering this matchup, both teams are 0-1. At the moment, it appears as if Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson is in a better spot than the Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Jacksonville lost against the Miami Dolphins on the road in Week 1 in a game that they should have won. However, they will look to get back on track in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson spoke to the media on Wednesday morning about preparing for the Cleveland Browns. This is one of the statements he told the media about the Browns:

“I think they’re still working on some things, getting on the same page with the quarterback.”

This is a very interesting statement made by the Jaguars head coach. He is not the only one who knows that the Browns are a mess at the quarterback position right now. Deshaun Watson did not look good at home in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Browns Are Stuck With Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson (4) fails to convert under pressure from Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland (94) and Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown (13) during the second half of an NFL football game at Huntington Bank Field, Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, in Cleveland, Ohio.

There is a lot of drama coming out of the Browns camp this week after they lost to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. There have been more off-the-field issues that have surfaced this week with Cleveland quarterback Deshaun Watson. Watson has had off-the-field issues in the past and he has also dealt with injuries. There is a reason why they signed quarterback Jameis Winston in the offseason.

If you’re head coach Doug Pederson and the Jacksonville Jaguars, they need to prepare for all scenarios this week. What if Watson has a bad first half? Will they pull the plug and bench him in favor of Jameis Winston in the second half of the game?

Time will tell what happens with the Cleveland Browns and Deshaun Watson. If even if they were to bench him, they would be stuck with his horrible contract. A lot of fans know that Joe Flacco performed well in this offense last season and would rather him than Deshaun Watson right now.

What the Jaguars need to do against the Browns on Sunday is make life uncomfortable for them. This is a game that Jacksonville needs to win.
