The Kansas City Chiefs WR room should have a spot to compete for
The Chiefs added wide receivers Marquise Brown in free agency and Xaiver Worthy in the draft to help bail out a unit that was one of the worst in the league during the 2023 regular season. They especially needed to add depth at wide receiver, with Rashee Rice dealing with the ramifications of a high-speed crash in March. He could be facing other legal issues.
Jaaron Hayek signed with the Chiefs following their rookie minicamp
Per the league’s transaction wire, the Chiefs signed Jaaron Hayek. They waived Reggie Brown to make room for Hayek.

Hayek was a standout in college
Hayek was a standout wide receiver for Villanova. During the 2022 season, he earned First-Team All-CAA Football honors for offense. He recorded 35 receptions for 457 yards and four touchdowns for the 2023 season.
Per the Chiefs’ website, Hayek had an impressive showing at rookie minicamp:
Rookie tryout wide receiver Jaaron Hayek drew several targets throughout practice and generally made the most of them, hauling in multiple deep receptions and a strong grab over the middle.
Hayek was impressive to start his NFL career. Now, he must continue building on that momentum if he wants to make the team in training camp.
