The Detroit Lions were 12-1 entering Sunday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills, who were 10-3. Detroit lost at home in a crazy affair against Buffalo by a final score of 48-42. The Lions’ defense had no answers for Josh Allen and the Bills’ defense had issues stopping Jared Goff also.
Head coach Dan Campbell and his squad still have the number one seed in the NFC. As long as Detroit wins out, they will get a first-round bye in the NFC Playoffs.
Detroit Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell Makes Shocking Comments After the Game
After the game, Dan Campbell made some interesting comments to the media. He said after the game:
“It’s a bad taste in your mouth. Now what are we going to do about it?”
At one point in the game, the Lions were down by 10 points in the fourth quarter and decided to onside kick the football, but the Bills recovered it and Mack Hollins almost scored a touchdown on the play. That was one of the sour tastes in Campbell’s mouth by going for it in that situation.
The Detroit Lions next game will be against Chicago Bears (4-9) next weekend on the road. It will be a must-win game for Detroit to stay in front of everyone in the NFC.

I’m not surprised by this outcome. I saw it coming 2 games before this one. It’s almost like the defense injuries have demoralized the offense. Put another way @Lions offense, defense contains the opposing team. Offense should concentrate on scoring points! #Lions

A lot of people are mad at defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn more than they are with Dan Campbell. One of the biggest issues with the Lions is the injuries on defense. At some point, it may catch up to them but it may already have against the Buffalo Bills. The Detroit Lions could still get the number one seed in the NFC, but there is a chance they don’t get to New Orleans and they very well miss Aidan Hutchinson also.
