C.J. Stroud has had an incredible rookie season for the Houston Texans. He is not only in contention for Offensive Rookie of the Year, but he could also help the Texans make the playoffs. However, Stroud suffered a concussion back in Week 14.
This kept Stroud out of the Texans’ Week 15 game against the Tennessee Titans. Will that keep him out once again? Well, his status has finally been revealed.
C.J. Stroud Out vs. Cleveland Browns
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, C.J. Stroud is out for Sunday’s game against the Browns due to a concussion. This likely means that QB Case Keenum will get the nod for the second straight week. Last week, Keenum was able to lead Houston to a big win over Tennessee.
Houston Texans Moving Forward
Losing Stroud is obviously a big deal. He had a historic start to his rookie season. Stroud has 3,631 passing yards, 20 touchdown passes, and just five interceptions in 13 games this season.
Now, the Texans will once again have to rely on Keenum to get the job done. However, Keenum has proven to be capable of rising to the occasion. Last week, he had 229 passing yards, a touchdown pass, and an interception. Keenum faces another backup quarterback, Joe Flacco, on Sunday.
