Houston Texans Activate Derek Stingley
Stingley’s career has been marred by injuries so far. He has only played 11 games in the two seasons he has been in the NFL. This year, he hasn’t played since week 2 when a hamstring injury caused him to go on IR. He returned to practice Wednesday and was a full participant Thursday and Friday signaling that he will likely play. This is a welcome sight for a Texans team that has been ravaged by injuries. It also is a welcome sight with Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase coming to town. They will need all the help they can get to slow down the Bengals’ passing attack.
Can The Texans Make The Playoffs?
The seventh seed in the AFC might be a 9-8 team. Sitting at 4-4, it is completely plausible that the Texans go 5-3 the rest of the way. CJ Stroud is having a historic rookie season and the defense is much improved as well under first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans. Games against the AFC South late in the year will be winnable and there is a real possibility that the Texans can sneak into the playoff picture. Regardless of whether they make the playoffs or not, the fact that there is finally hope in Houston is a good thing.
The Houston Texans are hoping that they can see flashes of greatness out of Derek Stingley. They took him third overall to be a lockdown corner and this week is a great test.
