The Kansas City Chiefs will have some star power back in their wide receiver room for the upcoming season after they agreed to a deal with a former first-round pick on Thursday night. The Chiefs took care of the defense this offseason, but they hadn’t taken care of the offense’s most pressing need until Thursday.
The Kansas City Chiefs have taken care of the defense
The Chiefs extended Chris Jones and Drue Tranquill and placed the franchise tag on L’Jarius Sneed. Those costly moves made it seem unlikely the team would have cap space to add a star power wide receiver at this point in March. The wide receiver position was problematic during the 2023 season as the Chiefs led the league in drops.
They’ll have an upgraded group in 2024.
Marquise Brown signed with the Chiefs
Per Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Chiefs signed Marquise Brown to a one-year deal worth $11 million.

Hollywood Brown is what the Chiefs needed
The Baltimore Ravens selected Brown with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He was traded to the Arizona Cardinals before the 2022 season.
Brown has 313 receptions for 3,644 yards and 28 touchdowns in his five-year NFL career. Brown will have a chance to put up explosive numbers with Patrick Mahomes next season.
