The Green Bay Packers Surprised Everyone Last Saturday
Ever since going out with an ankle injury during last weekend’s big wild card upset win at the Dallas Cowboys, fans have been wanting to know the playing status of one of the Green Bay Packers’ most crucial players, Jaire Alexander.
Alexander, former pro bowler, second team All-Pro and highest paid corner in football, has, now – just a couple of hours removed from the bout at the San Francisco 49ers, had his playing status revealed, per Bridget Condon.

What Does Jaire Alexander Mean To The Packers’ Defense?
The Packers have long had issues on the defense, certainly in the Pack’s own ‘Common Era’ of Favre, Rodgers, and now, Jordan Love. Consistently, Green Bay have failed to put together a top tier defense, despite spending virtually all their top draft capital on the defensive side of the ball.
One player who has certainly panned out on an individual level is Alexander, who, amongst being the recipient of the aforementioned accolades, has confirmed himself as one of the NFL’s premium and only true ‘lockdown corners’.
Jaire Alexander And The Packers Facing A Tough Task On Saturday Night
Against what is a star studded 49ers offense comprised of Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel, having simply one effective corner will do little to stop the juggernaut 49ers offense.
However, having Jaire as an extra piece in what has been an over-performing group in his absence, with Carrington Vallentine, Keisean Nixon and Corey Ballentine holding down the fort admirably, this certainly gives the Pack more of a fighting chance at slowing down, or even halting the 49ers.
The 49ers remain big favorites in this matchup in Santa Clara, as Green Bay close at around 10 point underdogs. It should be another great divisonal round day and a great Saturday night!
